Kim Alpert
b. 1982 Chicago, IL USA
With a background in Fine art, world music, and carpentry, Kim Alpert brings an attention to detail and diverse style to her work. With a deep interest new media and design trends Kim received her degree in Digital Media from Full Sail University, where she is currently on their Advisory Board to help design the curriculum.
Kim was the Film and Video Curator for Chicago’s Around the Coyote Festival through nine festivals. She has premiered her work there, as well as Facets, Movieside, Ice Capades, and the 28th annual Framline Festival. Kim’s installations have been part of several gallery exhibitions and She was featured as part of the first Looptopia with display forty feet tall on the side of a predominant building in downtown Chicago. Her current work includes sculpture, which incorporate plasma screens displaying her video works. These new pieces debuted at SOFAexpo 2007. She also performs live video compositions at clubs, galleries, and theaters.
Kim is the Creative Director for a boutique design agency in Chicago. She continues to be an active member of both the art and advertising community. |
